Iridium Complex Catalyzed Hydrogen Production from Glucose and Various Monosaccharides

چکیده
A new catalytic system has been developed for hydrogen production from various monosaccharides, mainly glucose, as a starting material under reflux conditions in water the presence of water-soluble dicationic iridium complex bearing functional bipyridine ligand. For example, reaction D-glucose 20 h [Cp*Ir(6,6′-dihydroxy-2,2′-bipyridine)(H2O)][OTf]2 (1.0 mol %) (Cp*: pentamethylcyclopentadienyl, OTf: trifluoromethanesulfonate) resulted gas 95% yield. In present reaction, it was experimentally suggested that dehydrogenation alcoholic moiety at 1-position glucose proceeded.

The first is allylic alkylation and allylic amination. This reaction proceeds via a -allyl iridium intermediate. The selectivity strongly depends o...
متن کاملSimulation and modeling of hydrogen production from glucose biomass model compound via hydro-thermal gasification
Glucose is a 6-carbon carbohydrate compound present in plants and the ingredient for hemicellulose which makes up 30% of plants’ total mass. The current study uses glucose as reactant and evaluates hydrogen generation at different temperatures and different amounts of input flow of glucose – water mixture. Hydrothermal gasification method is used for hydrogen generation in an open system with c...

Chlorinated compounds are among the most common and versatile building blocks in organic synthesis. Among these, achlorocarbonyl derivatives are of synthetic value owing to the variety of functional groups that can be introduced both at the chlorinated a-carbon atom and at the carbonyl functionality. For instance, they readily undergo substitution/addition reactions and cross-coupling reactions...
متن کاملEfficient, Highly Productive Hydrogen Production from Glucose
Our long term objective is to develop efficient and cost-effective technology for the production of hydrogen from glucose, xylose, and other cellulosic hydrolysis products. We will use cell-free technology to provide precise control over metabolic fluxes while minimizing the toxic effects of cellulosic byproducts. Initial process calculations suggest the potential for high conversion efficienci...
متن کاملEfficient Cell-Free Hydrogen Production from Glucose
Our objective is to develop scaleable technology that will efficiently convert glucose and xylose, the primary products of cellulosic biomass digestion, into hydrogen. This project was designed to investigate feasibility. Key challenges were: a) demonstrating effective production of a complex hydrogenase under anaerobic conditions, and b) demonstrating the effective coupling of the hydrogenase ...
